Esteemed team at ROAR Salon selected exclusively to style models for runway show at GSD&M Idea City August 14th

 

AUSTIN, TX (July 26, 2010) - The team at ROAR Salon is thrilled to have been selected exclusively by Austin Fashion Week to create make-up looks and hairstyles for the models walking in the runway show at “Bright Lights, Idea City” the kick off event on August 14th.

 

We chose ROAR because of their amazing talent and impeccable customer service which was clearly recognized last year when they received two of our highest Fashion Week Awards,” said Matt Swinney, creator of Austin Fashion Week.

 

Located at 5th and Brazos downtown Austin, ROAR Salon and its award-winning stylists have been beautifying clients from around and out of town since opening just 2 years ago. Last year the salon was named Austin’s Best Salon by the Austin Chronicle and also acquired Best Stylist and Best Customer Service awards at last year’s Austin Fashion Week.

 

Bright Lights, Idea City,” the official Austin Fashion Week Kick off on August 14th will showcase designs by Robert Graham and Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent. Frank, How Do You Roll, Cru, Mama Fu’s, Delish, Tart and more will provide complimentary cocktails and munchies. The musical guest will be 80’s pop icon, Tiffany. In addition, ROAR is pleased to have their new resident make-up artist, Courtney Torkelson, on board to be the lead make-up artist for this event.

 

ROAR will also be hosting a fashion event at the salon on Thursday, August 19th featuring wearable art – as seen on models styled by ROAR’s best talent and wearing the latest designs by local jewelry designer, Christy Klug (www.christyklug.com).
